ARTIFACT 1: Culture & Climate Summit

I attended our district Culture and Climate Summit as our school leadership team representative. At the summit multiple speakers from around the country came together to work with educators and administrators about understanding diversity in a school culture and building a strong school climate that supports student diversity.

ARTIFACT 2: An Admin's Response

In regards to the imposition the federal government made regarding immigrants and refugees being allowed into our country, multiple administrators responded to the community, students, and teachers to ease their fears. The wave of response by administration in Des Moines Public Schools began with a message from Kevin Briggs, principal at Roosevelt High School. I took the time to reflect on these responses.
